Alejandra Gómez Vásquez

Alejandra Gómez (1984) is a Colombian-French artist, working and living in Paris. She studied music and commercial photography in Colombia. At the age of 20 she moved to London to learn English. Later she moved to Paris where she studied photography, fine arts and contemporary art at Paris 8 university.

Her work is based on her fascination for human beings and their relationship with nature. She mostly do portraits, capturing the world through the physical and emotional sensations of her subjects. She works with photography and moving images, film and digital. Her work explores color, shapes, posture, rhythm, time flow. She also questions memory, which acts as a collector of life’s experiences.

Her personal projects are inspired by her dreams, her personal traumas, encounters and travels. Her photographs translate the mental images where fiction confronts reality.

She continues to develop her own artistic exploration while working for high-end clients in the corporate, documentary , editorial and fashion industry.
